"Oh, wow!" Scrappy filled her lungs with the crisp windy air. I will never, never get tired of coming to the moor! It's so beautiful, I can hardly stand it! She blinked against the exquisitely harsh wind, turning her slender head all around to take in the rippling grass and the slate gray clouds sweeping across the sullen sky; they were standing now in, now out of the cloud shadows.
Scrappy looked over to Bone. "I love my tribe so much." She grinned at him and wagged her fluffy cinnamon tail.

Bone padded up out of the mustiness of camp and felt a crisp breeze hit his eyes, he blinked. All he saw was the neverending moor, and an overcast, gray sky. Heather rose from the ground alog with gorse, and small shrubs and bushes. He looked at Scrappy, her cinnamon fur blowing in the wind. he felt his eyes water a bit, she was so beautiful to him. He padded a bit in front of her. "I love our Tribe as well." He said. He lifted his chin to the air and opened his jaws taking in the scents of the moor. He tried to identify ever fresh scent on the breeze, finally a great smell hit his tongue and made his muscles quiver for excitement for a nice run. "I smell hare, it went east, towards the city, it is fresh." He whispered to Scrappy.

I smell hare, it went east, towards the city, it is fresh. Scrappy's eyes widened as Bone whispered the words confidently, almost like a magic spell. The cloudy gray sky made his white fur stand out, making him larger than life. Everything seems so strange, like a dream! Scrappy thought, feeling as if everything that would happen next had been planned long ago.
She took a cautious step forward and scented the wind. "Yes, I smell it too," she whispered, eyes glinting as she caught the delicious scent. "But...towards the city?" What new adventure was coming their way?

Many thoughts were turning over in Scrappy's mind in the moments after the words left her mouth. What if I ruin the hunt? Bone seems so confident...I don't think I'm as skillful a hunter! What if he laughs at me...? No, he's too nice for that. Oh, but what if I almost have sneaked up to the rabbit and my tail bracelet startles him...Bone didn't seem to hear my question about taking it off, and it's too late now...if I take it off right in the middle of the moor I'll never find it again...
She lifted her head and took a short breath. No worries. No regrets. What will happen must...I have to concentrate all my attention on Bone's idea and plan. I'm sure he'll have one, he seems unworried by the city. I just have to trust him, that's all.

Bone strided quickly through some tall heather, his profile low, his his tail tucked down, trailing behind him, his head lowered and his eyes staring blankly ahead, examining the moor in front of him. He could smell the hare scent strong and fresh, meaning he was on the right track and the animal was close. He looked behind him to make sure Scrappy was keeping up, she was, and he was thankful for that. He peered through some brush in front of him and there a hare was sitting, contently, nibbling away at some blackberries.

Scrappy pulled up short, barely holding back a yelp of surprise as Bone stopped dead in his tracks. She saw he was peering through the brush, and she sank to her belly in the rough grasses and heather, peering in the same direction he was. She grinned in wicked delight at the sight of a plump rabbit, blissfully unaware of the two canines. He happily gnawed on a blackberry plant, using his furry paws deftly to pull the tender berries closer to his mouth without pricking himself on the thorns.
"Now what?" Scrappy breathed the words to Bone, her hazel eyes flicking in his direction. Whatever happened, she did not want to spoil this catch.

Bone smiled, licking his dark lips. "We now must stalk the rabbit until we are in a good position to approach and pin him, for the final kill." He breathed, watching the animal pull another blackberry off the bush, and stain its small snout with the juices as he squashed the berry in his teeth. Bone went around a purple heather plant, until he was in a position where he could lurch at the rabbit next chance he got and get it in a position where a tender area was exposed.
